Black music and southern culture not only intersect with deep roots in hip-hop, gospel, jazz, blues, rock--they’re woven with rich history, resiliency, and storytelling that elicits a quest for a higher-calling in those who connect with them. The same rings true in the music created by South Carolina Low Country harmonious singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Rodrick Cliche.

Cliche aims to make empathy contagious through the magic of his music and is no stranger to moving a crowd. His career began from his dedication to playing for his church while growing up. He was introduced to the Popular music industry and founded on myspace.com in 2006 by one of his biggest influences, Raphael Saadiq! As he formed ties with Raphael Saadiq through a close mentorship, he has recorded and toured with a vast variety of artists; Joss Stone, D’Angelo, NeedToBreathe and Wilder Woods (to name a few). While building a portfolio filled with artists he respects, he also found time to volunteer locally in his community and provide his skill in local churches. Gospel music is at the core of his upbringing and he could never separate himself from the genre.

Cliche was the first organist at Elevation Church (Charlotte NC) providing his soulful expertise to a Christian Contemporary style church. He was the worship leader at Seacoast Dream Center (North Charleston SC), and has produced numerous gospel projects for artists in South Carolina; Natasha Gray, F.O.C.U.S Ministries, Elijah Goodwin & Remnant, Pastor H.E. Dixon's "Sweet Water" album, and Seacoast Music. He has been noted in his craft through awards and nominations by Stellar, Dove, BMI and Grammys. Cliche wrote and produced songs on the 2015 grammy nominated (gospel album of the year) "Living It" for Dorinda Clark Cole of the legendary Gospel group, The Clark Sisters. Cliche's debut album “Zero Point Energy” was released in May of 2020.

Through his music, Cliche aims to empower people to a more spiritual awareness and show the undeniable relation between music and miracles. Through his influence, he aims to help unite the world of every race and belief to a common place of love. Through his life, he aims to detox oppressed mentalities through opening channels of communication.
